MUNCIE, Ind. — Alex Bailey originally wanted to be either a physical trainer or a strength and conditioning coach.

That’s what he was studying for as he played football in college at Youngstown State. That’s what he was pursuing initially after his playing days were over.

But then, after Bailey was unable to secure some strength and conditioning graduate assistant positions he was pursuing, he ended up taking a graduate assistant position on the coaching side of things at Defiance. He went on to coach at Dayton, Valparaiso and Wayne State.
