MUNCIE, Ind. — Delta is known for its exploits on tennis courts in East Central Indiana and around the state.
The Eagles enjoy success year after year. The boys have won 28 sectional titles, including the last 26. The girls have won 28, too, including the last nine. Between the two programs are 40 regional titles and nine semi-state titles. And the vast majority of that success has come with coach Tim Cleland, who this year set the record for combined career wins coaching girls and boys high school tennis in Indiana, leading the way.
Cleland sat down with The Star Press to discuss why he doesn’t cut players from his teams, if other schools have tried to tempt him to leave Delta and more.
