MUNCIE, Ind. — Five East Central Indiana athletes at Tuesday's Ben Davis girls track and field regional qualified for the state meet in six total events.
Although the number of area qualifiers is down from last year's total of eight, the five advancing girls are from different schools. There might have been more, but 2021 state qualifiers in New Castle's Ella Garvin and Muncie Central's Victoria Hardnett did not compete due to injury.
Those who will compete in the state meet at Indiana University's Robert C. Haugh Complex on Friday, June 3, are Delta sophomore Nicki Southerland in the 1,600m (first place, 4:48.
