MUNCIE — Saturday night could be a historic one for Delaware County boys basketball.
Five county schools — Central, Cowan, Daleville, Delta and Wapahani — advanced to their respective sectional finals with semifinal wins on Friday night. Since Cowan and Daleville are playing each other in the Wes-Del final, we are guaranteed at least one county champion.
But Delaware County could see as many as four champions crowned this year, something that has never happened before. In 2003, Burris, Central and Wes-Del each won a sectional championship. The last time two Delaware County teams won a sectional in the same year was 2014.
