MUNCIE, Ind. — Last season, this BSU team’s season began in December.
Ball State track and field started with a few meets that took place in the state of Indiana. Cardinals coach Brian Etelman’s squad then went to a couple of meets that took place out of state. And then after another in-state meet, BSU went on to finish third at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships.
That latter performance is the program’s best finish since 2009. It potentially could have propelled Ball State to even further success last spring. But then the pandemic forced the rest of the Cardinals’ season to be canceled.
