MUNCIE, Ind. — As Ball State cross country coach Brian Etelman spoke Wednesday afternoon, the excitement in his voice was clear.
“We’re on,” Etelman told The Star Press.
For a time, it looked as if his team wouldn’t be competing this fall because of the COVID-19 pandemic. For a time, it looked as if the Cardinals would have to compete at some point in the spring as their track and field season potentially took place, too. But on Monday, the Mid-American Conference announced its men’s and women’s cross country championships would be held Nov. 21.
