Vaihola, seconds early, hit the go-ahead bucket to put San Jose State up 67-65. He held the ball as the clock hit zero and the Spartans celebrated. A back-and-forth second half ended in a Cardinals defeat. Ball State ended its trip at the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship with a 1-2 record, moving it to 4-3 on the season.
