YORKTOWN, Ind. — Tuesday's hot and humid opening round of the 2022 Delaware County baseball tournament featured two distinctly different games: a blowout and a thriller.
IHSBCA Class 2A No. 2 Wapahani (17-3) topped Cowan (9-8) 12-1 in six innings, followed by a nail-biting 4-2 contest that Delta (5-14) won over Wes-Del (10-8).
Saturday's semifinal and championship game times have been changed because of forecasted afternoon rain. The Raiders will face Yorktown (13-7) in the semifinals at 9 a.m., the first meeting between these squads this season. The Eagles will play Daleville (3-16), a matchup the Eagles won twice this year already, 30 minutes after the first game's conclusion.
