MUNCIE, Ind. — The IHSAA girls basketball season officially begins on Monday, marking the start of winter sports.
As always, there's plenty of matchups to look forward to in East Central Indiana, ranging from crosstown rivalries to conference battles. Here are 10 area games to mark on your calendar for the 2022-23 season:
Nov. 3: Delta at Muncie Central
The Bearcats dominated this season-opening match last year, winning 58-35, but these teams should be more evenly matched in 2022. Muncie Central graduated three key starters while the Eagles return everyone and add a few freshmen whom head coach Andy Lewman is excited about.
