Wisconsin blocking Michigan's path to Big Ten title

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Three of the four teams in the Big Ten Conference tournament semifinals had interesting storylines heading into a doubleheader Saturday at the Verizon Center.

Northwestern is seeking its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan had its airplane skid into a ditch on Wednesday night, meaning a delayed trip to the Big Ten tourney.

Minnesota is the most improved team in the country after winning eight games last season and appears headed to the NCAA field about a year after some of its players were suspended.

And boring Wisconsin?

Perhaps there is no exciting storyline for the Badgers, who are headed to their third conference title game in the past five years.
