Holden star Shane Van Gisbergen has blitzed the Supercars field to secure pole position for Saturday's season-opening 250km race in Adelaide.
The Red Bull Holden Racing Team posted a lap of one minute and 19.8304 seconds in Saturday's top 10 shootout to take pole position by four-tenths of a second.
Ford driver Scott McLaughlin will start from second on the grid, with Van Gisbergen's teammate, defending champion Jamie Whincup, to start from fifth.
