Sebastian Vettel downplayed Ferrari's underwhelming Friday practice in Australia, saying he is sure the team has plenty of performance to find before qualifying.
Ferrari arrived in Melbourne following a very encouraging pre-season which had led to optimism of a title challenge in 2017. However Friday practice seemed to be very much business as usual from the past three years, with Lewis Hamilton dominating for world champions Mercedes, finishing 0.5s ahead of Vettel.
Vettel and Ferrari have been keen to carefully manage expectations since the start of pre-season and the four-time world champion continued that approach after Friday.
