Pigot, Indy Lights champ, to run at least 3 races

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indy Lights champion Spencer Pigot has landed a ride for the Indianapolis 500 and at least two other races next season.

Pigot's three-race deal with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing could grow to more events depending on how sponsorship develops.

The three races -- St. Petersburg, the road course at Indianapolis and the Indy 500 -- will be funded by Andersen Promotions through the Mazda Road to Indy program that supports the reigning Indy Lights champion.

Pigot won the Pro Mazda championship in 2014 and added the Lights title this year as he progressed through the ladder system.
