Hamilton fears reverse-grid plans are an excuse for flaws in 2021 rules

Five-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is concerned Formula One's plans to experiment with new race formats next year is simply a way of masking the shortfalls of the long-awaited 2021 rules package.

Formula One's motorsport director, Ross Brawn, defended plans to experiment with different race formats after Hamilton and four-time champion Sebastian Vettel slammed the idea of reverse grids last weekend in Singapore.

F1 has not given specific details on its plans, but it is understood that a reverse-grid qualifying race is under serious consideration.
