Christian Horner calls 'brutally frustrating' race a missed opportunity for Red Bull

Christian Horner believes "the potential was really there" for Red Bull to have a strong result in the Bahrain Grand Prix before its double retirement in the early stages of the race.

Red Bull's race unravelled on the second lap of the race. Max Verstappen suffered a puncture after contact with Lewis Hamilton at Turn 1 just a few corners before teammate Daniel Ricciardo slowed to a halt after suffering a loss of engine power. Verstappen retired two laps later due to the car damage from the Hamilton incident.

Although Verstappen was fighting back through the field from a grid slot towards the back of the grid, Daniel Ricciardo was running fourth when he retired, leaving team boss Horner wondering what might have been.
