Millions of college football fans will gather around their televisions Saturday afternoon at 3:30 ET to watch No.1 Alabama do battle with No. 6 Auburn. If you are a Dish Network subscriber, however, you’ll be looking at a blank screen.
Dish Network has blacked out CBS and its stations after a midnight deadline on November 20th passed without a renewed carriage deal agreed upon between the broadcaster and satellite provider.
“Dish has dropped CBS and several other local television stations owned by CBS, in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Tampa, Detroit, Minneapolis, Miami, Denver, Sacramento, Pittsburgh and Baltimore,” CBS said in a statement after the deadline passed.
