Auburn used an 18-0 run in the second half and a 22-point night from Mustapha Heron in taking down the Hofstra Pride 89-78 in the consolation game of the Charleston Classic.
The Tigers trailed 50-49 at halftime, but ran off the first 18 points of the second half in building a 67-50 lead that they’d never relinquish. The Auburn defense held Hofstra scoreless through the first 7:25 of the second half before the run was broken.
In the first half, Auburn’s biggest lead was five points, but for the most part it was a back and forth period of play with both sides taking leads multiple times.
