The numbers are out, and they reveal what fans already should know: SEC football coaches earn a lot.

A whole lot.

In all, seven of the 20 highest-paid college coaches are in the SEC, a database of college coach salaries compiled by USA Today shows.

Alabama’s Nick Saban leads the way, bringing in a total of $11.3 million for this season.

Saban is the only SEC coach in the top nine. Behind the five-time national champion are Dabo Swinney at reigning champion Clemson, Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, Urban Meyer at Ohio State, Rich Rodriguez at Arizona, Jimbo Fisher at Florida State, David Shaw at Stanford, Tom Herman at Texas and Gary Patterson at TCU.
