Auburn dipped into SEC play this past weekend, making the trip down to Baton Rouge to battle 8th-ranked LSU for the first conference series of the season. The Bayou Bengals swept Auburn in three games by three total runs, winning 3-2 in 14 innings on Friday, 3-2 on Saturday, and 1-0 on Sunday.
It was a tough weekend opening with such a solid opponent, but at least Auburn understands where they are compared to a similar team in the conference. Home field advantage was likely a factor for LSU in winning all three games, and if the series was played in Auburn, the outcome could’ve very likely been reversed.
