OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Sophomore Kasey Cooper has been a force on the softball field for the Auburn Tigers all season, but her work off the field in the classroom is being recognized also as she was named a Capital One First Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Cooper joins Paige Jones from the 2005 team as the only Auburn Tigers ever to be named a Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American, but becomes the program's first first-teamer.
Cooper has become Auburn's anchor at third base over the last two seasons and is only finishing up her sophomore year.
