OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Auburn's first trip to the College World Series has now produced its first win.
Auburn beat Tennessee 4-2in Saturday's first game of World Series action to advance to a night game against UCLA at 6. The winner of that one gets to play another. The loser goes home.
Auburn jumped on the Vols early, scoring four runs in the third inning on Haley Fagan's RBI single, a two-run double by Carlee Wallace and an RBI double by Jade Rhodes. Tennessee scored runs in the fourth and fifth, but Auburn stopped it there, using Rachael Walters in releif to get out of a bases-loaded situation in the fifth to contain the damage.
