Seven Tigers punch their tickets to NCAA Outdoors

Seven Tigers punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships and four more advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinals on day two of the NCAA East Preliminaries on Friday in Lexinton, Ky.

“We came out with some strong performances today,” Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. “The key athletes we needed to advance took care of business and punched their ticket to Eugene. Our 200 meter runners also put up strong performances to advance to quarterfinals as well. If we have another strong day tomorrow, we have a chance to do some damage in Eugene.”

For the first time in school history, three Tigers qualified for NCAA Outdoors in the 400 meters.
