Although Auburn dropped three close games over the weekend in the Cox Diamond Invitational in Pensacola, the Tiger pitching has been phenomenal. Cole Lipscomb posted a season-high eight strikeouts Sunday but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers fell 3-1 to Southern Miss (10-2).
The right hander only gave up two hits but didn’t get much help from the Tiger bats. Nevertheless, before the Pensacola the offense has been having a good year. Auburn has scored double-digit runs four times in 12 games this year, which equals the total of double-digit run games from the entire 2015 season.
