Report: Alex Golesh set to hire recently fired SEC defensive coordinator as EDGE coach

Alex Golesh continues to fill out his first coaching staff as Auburn’s head coach, with Coleman Hutzler set to be hired as the Tigers’ new EDGE coach, per CBSSports’ Matt Zenitz.

The 41-year-old Hutzler spent the last two seasons as Jeff Lebby’s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Mississippi State, but was let go on Monday to allow Lebby to bring in Zach Arnett as the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator once again.

Hutzler has worked his way up the college football chain since starting as a defensive assistant at San Diego in 2006. A linebacker during his playing days at Middlebury College, Hutzler has plenty of experience in the SEC, with stops at Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Alabama along the way, as well as Mississippi State.
