November 11th is a day set aside to honor our nation’s veterans. The following may be of particular interest to alumni and friends of Auburn University.
Richard Marcinko, Seal Team 6 founder, the Navy’s first counter-terrorist command, earned his M.A. in Political Science at Auburn University.
Johnny Michael Spann earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement. After graduation he served 6 years in the Marine Corps and then moved over to Special Activities Division, CIA. He was killed during a riot at the Qala-i-Jangi compound near Mazari Sharif in northern Afghanistan.
Auburn University also trains dogs which are used to detect Vapor Wakes indicating the presence of explosives.
