Solomon, a native of Dublin, Calif., is just six strokes behind Texas Tech’s Hannes Ronneblad (65-71—136), who holds the individual lead at 8-under. He carded a trio of birdies as part of his 1-over 73 second round.
A trio of Tigers are tied for 28th at 3-over in freshman Jovan Rebula (72-75--147), sophomore Trace Crowe (71-76—147) and senior Matt Gilchrest (72-75—147).
