No. 11 Men’s Golf 5th after Jerry Pate National Opening Day

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – No. 11 Auburn men’s golf is in fifth following 36 holes of play at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, carding an even-par 282-278--560 Monday at the Old Overton Club.

Freshman Wells Padgett carded a 3-under 67 in the second round with five birdies on Nos. 5, 6 and 9 on the front and 16 and 18 on the back, and currently sits in a three-way tie for 16th at 1-under 72-67—139 to lead the Tigers.

Sophomore Jovan Rebula and junior Trace Crowe are tied for 23rd at 1-over. Rebula (71-70—141) tallied six birdies on the day, and eagled the par-5 16th in the second round.
