National Signing Day is upon us. It’s a small bit of college football to help us addicts cope with the off-season. It’s a mythical championship. And it’s exciting because recruiting and it’s the life-blood of winning. Sure, there are three-star booms and five-star busts. There are plenty of schools that recruit exceedingly well every year, but don’t have a championship appearance and there are schools that haven’t finished in the top ten and made it to the playoffs. That doesn’t diminish the effect of recruiting in the slightest.
A quick look across the state will show that while coaching matters, recruiting and development matter just as much.
