AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn freshman Matteo DeVincentis received a pair of postseason honors Thursday, earning one of six spots on the SEC all-freshman team, as well as being named to the SEC second team all-conference squad for men’s tennis.
DeVincentis, who arrived as Auburn in January from Rome, Italy, posted a 9-10 singles record this spring, playing mostly at the No. 2 singles spot in the lineup. He went 5-6 in SEC singles play, compiling conference wins over No. 26 Giovanni Oradini (Mississippi State), No. 31 Danny Valent (Vanderbilt), Luis Valero (Tennessee), Fabian Fallert (Ole Miss) and Adam Sanjurjo (Arkansas).
