AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn’s Max Hinnisdaels is into the semifinals in singles for a second straight year after Saturday’s action at the ITA Southern Regional tournament at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The No. 6 seed in the tournament and last year’s regional runner-up, Hinnisdaels defeated Tyler Schick of Tulane 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon. He will face Giovani Samaha of Troy in his semifinal match Sunday at 10 a.m. The other singles semifinal matches Sebastian Rey of Tulane and Tuki Jacobs of Alabama.
In doubles, the top-seeded pairing of Hinnisdaels and Marko Krickovic defeated Samford’s Jake Faundez and Justin Ghovami in the round of 16 Saturday by an 8-4 score, but the Auburn duo fell to Will Huyton and Arthur Libaud of Louisiana-Lafayette 8-5 in the quarterfinals.
