AUBURN, Ala. – Four Auburn competitors saw their first action Thursday in the ITA Southern Regional tournament at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
In third-round singles action, No. 6 seed Max Hinnisdaels topped Ian Van Cott of Tulane, 6-4, 6-2; in the next round, Hinnisdaels defeated Gustav Hansson of Ole Miss, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4. Hinnisdaels will face Tyler Schick (Tulane) in the quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon.
Dante Saleh took Constantin Schmitz of Tulane to three sets in their third-round match before falling 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.
In doubles, the top-seeded pairing of Hinnisdaels and Marko Krickovic defeated Mikhail Esipov and Teeradon Tortrakul of Southern Miss on Friday by an 8-4 score.
