AUBURN, Ala. – Consensus five-star Mustapaha Heron, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound guard from Waterbury, Conn., and Sacred Heart High School, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Auburn University and play basketball in 2016-17, head coach Bruce Pearl announced on Thursday.
Heron, the first five-star in Auburn history, has garnered that ranking from ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals and Scout. He is ranked 21st nationally by Rivals, 23rd by Scout, 24th by ESPN and 24th by 247Sports.
“Mustapha is a program changer,” said Pearl. “Mustapha was one of two or three players this summer whom I enjoyed watching more than anybody.
