Loyalty wins as one key staffer will stay at Auburn under Alex Golesh

Alex Golesh didn't have to go far to find the man he wants running his defense as Auburn's new head football coach.

On Tuesday afternoon, Golesh announced that DJ Durkin, who had served as the defensive coordinator for the Tigers the past two seasons, will remain on his staff.

“Choosing to keep DJ on our staff was an easy call," the head coach said in a statement. "Our relationship goes back more than 20 years to our roots in Ohio, we have worked with some of the same men, and we’ve competed against each other in this great league.
