AUBURN, Ala. – Kerryon Johnson is beginning to get some national recognition after another impressive performance against No. 1 Georgia over the weekend. The Auburn running back, whose coach believes should be in the Heisman Trophy conversation, was named the Maxwell Award player of the week on Tuesday.

Johnson accounted for 233 all-purpose yards – 167 yards rushing, 66 yards receiving – and a touchdown in Saturday’s 40-17 win over the Bulldogs. He logged a season-high 32 carries against the one of the nation’s top run defenses coming in.
