Kerryon Johnson was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft earlier tonight. Detroit used the 43rd overall selection to grab the Auburn running back, who won the 2017 SEC Player of the Year award and accumulated better than 1,500 all-purpose yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior on the Plains.
He’s a talented runner who became a workhorse this past season for the Tigers, grabbing the tough yards and pacing the Auburn ground attack. Now, he’ll join a team that finished last in the NFL in rushing in 2017, and he’ll be paired in the backfield with a guy who loves to sling the ball around.
