AUBURN, Ala. – For the third consecutive year, Auburn third baseman Kasey Cooper has been named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced by the organization Thursday.
Cooper headlines the 2017 Division I softball first team as a mechanical engineering major with a 3.97 GPA. She was also selected to the 2015 and 2016 squads and is the first player in program history to be honored as an Academic All-American three times.
Cooper is also the first back-to-back SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year choice in the Auburn record books and is the only the second player in league history to repeat as the conference’s top scholar-athlete.
