BOSTON, Mass. – Auburn alum and current National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) player Julie King broke the all-time appearances record for the Boston Breakers when she took the field Friday night.
King stepped on to the pitch for the 103rd time as a member of the Breakers, surpassing United States Women’s National Team midfielder Kristine Lilly.
“It’s exciting to be in a position to accomplish that,” said King of the milestone in a release by the pro club. “Obviously, I haven’t done it on my own, so it kind of gives me a moment of reflection on my journey.
