Lawson Sr., no stranger to football after playing fullback at Georgia Tech, used to tell his son something few fathers have to tell their teenage sons. Go hang out with friends. Celebrate the win. Take a break.
Lawson had his own post-game ritual. Pencil and notebook in hand, Lawson spent his Friday nights going through the film of the game he'd just played, grading himself harshly and obsessing over missed opportunities.
"He still thinks he should have had 10 or 15 more sacks," Lawson Sr.
