Auburn freshman JaTarvious “Boobie” Whitlow has a big week ahead of him.
On Tuesday, the three-sport athlete will graduate from LaFayette High School. On Friday, Whitlow will celebrate his 18th birthday. On Sunday, the long-time signee will finally move to Auburn’s campus.
But on Saturday, Whitlow will receive an honor few others have: he will celebrate a day named after him in his hometown of Lafayette, Ala.
“I got a whole day about me,” he said. “We’re going to ball. We’re going to have the best time ever.”
Whitlow led the Whitlow School to its first perfect regular season and a third-round finish in the Class 2A playoffs in football.
