Malzahn looked like anything, but the best offensive mind in the nation Saturday night. His irrational quarterback rotations wasted a brilliant performance by his defense, caused the unfailingly loyal and supportive Auburn home crowd to boo repeatedly, elicited widespread ridicule throughout college football and generally blew a golden opportunity for a signature win.
Malzahn spent most of last season trying to figure out his quarterback situation after inaccurately believing he could adapt his zone-read, hurry-up, offensive playbook to the pro-style skill-set of Jeremy Johnson.
