Auburn’s Gus Malzahn is one of 20 college football coaches on the preseason watch list for the 2018 Dodd Trophy.
The Dodd Trophy celebrates the head coach of a team who enjoys on-field success, while also stressing the importance of scholarship, leadership and integrity – the three pillars of legendary coach Bobby Dodd’s coaching philosophy.
The Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl released the list Wednesday, representing all Power 5 conferences along with the Mountain West and Notre Dame.
Entering his sixth season as Auburn’s head coach, Malzahn is one of four SEC coaches on the list, along with South Carolina’s Will Muschamp, Alabama’s Nick Saban and Georgia’s Kirby Smart.
