Gus Malzahn named semifinalist for George Munger Coach of the Year award

AUBURN, Ala. – On Thursday, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn was chosen as one of 16 semifinalists for the George Munger College Coach of the Year, which is presented annually be the Maxwell Football Club.

Malzahn in his fifth year at Auburn, and his team is currently 8-2, ranked No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings, and coming off a signature win over No. 1 Georgia. In SEC play this season, the Tigers have outscored their opponents, 301-138, they are ranked top-three in the conference in both scoring offense and scoring defense.
