AUBURN, Ala. - From her home in Beauregard, Alabama, Kylee Carter can be at Auburn's Hutsell-Rosen track in 20 minutes.
"My community is really close and they're all very supportive, and my family is close and they're really supportive, too. It's nice to have home really close."
You could say Kylee is just a javelin throw away from her hometown.
"Beauregard is a small community," she said. "To know that every time I make a move, everyone in Beauregard knows about it and everyone in Beauregard is proud of me and reaches out to me.
