After a big win against Tennessee, the Auburn Tigers faltered 81-69 against No. 22 South Carolina Tuesday night. Consequently, the Gamecocks remain one of two unbeaten teams in Division I basketball.
The 81-69 score does not sum up the many twists and turns of the SEC contest. The Tigers began the game with a lead, thanks to a 3-point bucket by Kareem Canty. But after Carolina took the lead at the 16 minute mark, they never looked back.
That doesn’t mean that Auburn wasn’t in the game. Much to their credit the Tigers stormed back no less than twice after being down 13 or more points.
