Former Auburn forward Chaney Johnson will play for the Nets in 2026.
On Friday, Brooklyn announced they had signed the Alabaster native to a two-way contract, increasing their roster size to 18. Johnson is expected split time between Brooklyn and their developmental G-League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.
Johnson was a key component during the Tigers’ Final Four run last season. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 7.0 points per game during his two years at Auburn and shot 54.4 percent from the field.
Before transferring to The Plains, Johnson played for the University of Alabama-Huntsville where he was a standout shooter, making First Team All-GSC during the 2021–2022 season.
