As far as dark horse teams are considered, Auburn seems to be the trendiest pick to compete for the SEC going into the 2017 season. But the Tigers are generating headlines for more reasons than just at the moment – and for reasons that could prove positive for them.
As of late, several noted Auburn figures, from Pat Dye to Gus Malzahn to Jay Jacobs, have stated their support for the school to move from the SEC West to the SEC East. And while it may not have been planned, I thought of the idea on “The Chuck Oliver Show” Friday that Auburn has come up with a little bit of a strategy about the whole thing: Stay relevant.
