Family sets up fundraising page for Auburn commit diagnosed with cancer

Tashawn Manning, a high school defensive tackle who has verbally committed to play football at Auburn University, was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APML) at the end of November.

Manning is from Apopka, Fla. where he is a senior at Wekiva High School. He had planned on graduating early so he could enroll at Auburn in the spring, but those plans have been put on hold for now. He has assured by the Auburn coaching staff that whenever he is ready to attend school his scholarship will be ready.

Manning has been told that his battle with APML has a 90 percent chance of being cured, but to help with the costs of medical care his family has started a fundraising page with a goal of raising $10,000.
