AUBURN, Ala. – Junior right-handed pitcher Casey Mize picked up another preseason accolade as he was named a Perfect Game/Rawlings Preseason First Team All-American Tuesday morning.
The preseason recognition is the second for Mize after being named a Preseason Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball in December.
Mize is coming off a season in which he led Auburn with an 8-2 record, 2.04 ERA and 109 strikeouts despite missing three starts with an injury. His ERA registered third in the Southeastern Conference and 25th in the NCAA, while his strikeout total was the highest by an Auburn pitcher since 1999.
