AUBURN, Ala. – Junior pitcher Casey Mize was named a preseason All-American by the third different publication as D1 Baseball tabbed him a member of its first team Tuesday morning.
The preseason recognition comes after Mize was named a Preseason Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball in December and a First Team All-American by Perfect Game/Rawlings earlier this month.
Mize is coming off a season in which he led Auburn with an 8-2 record, 2.04 ERA and 109 strikeouts despite missing three starts with an injury. His ERA registered third in the Southeastern Conference and 25th in the NCAA, while his strikeout total was the highest by an Auburn pitcher since 1999.
