AUBURN, Ala. – Freshman Daniel Sprinkle pitched three scoreless relief innings and Damon Haecker hit his first homer of the season, but Auburn baseball fell to No. 23 South Alabama 8-5 on Tuesday at Plainsman Park.
“Randy Bell was the difference in this ball game,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. “We pitched our same pitching game that we get in a rhythm of throwing and Daniel Sprinkle did a great job for us. I give Randy Bell all of the credit. This was one of those nights where I felt our team didn’t compete for nine innings.
